Methodology

How GameFigs builds a toolkit players actually click to use — and where our numbers come from.

How the tools are built

Every tool is tested in-browser before publication. Where a formula is exact (for example, eDPI = DPI × sensitivity, or cm ↔ in conversion) the result is exact. Where a value depends on game- or hardware-specific factors, we use community-accepted or publicly reported figures and label them clearly as estimates.

How we verify

Each tool or guide that cites numbers links to its reference and shows a retrieval date. GPU comparisons use widely published relative-performance tiers; sensitivity math uses standard converter formulas. We would rather show a clear estimate with a source than a precise-looking number we can't back up. Anything we cannot verify is marked pending or omitted.

Refresh cadence

The open dataset is refreshed annually with a versioned changelog; high-traffic tools and notable reference changes are updated as sources change. The current dataset version is dated 2026-09-10. You can cite or download the full open dataset from our Cite This Dataset page.

Known limitations

Estimates depend on game- or hardware-specific factors and on the accuracy of the public sources we cite. GameFigs is a reference toolkit, not an official support channel, and tool outputs are for planning only. Always verify critical numbers against the official source.

Independence

GameFigs is run by The GameFigs Editorial Team as an independent editorial research project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any game publisher, hardware vendor, or platform holder. See the Author page for the responsible party, or contact us with corrections.
